Chocolate is not for dogs

Chocolate is toxic to dogs, but Uschi doesn’t know that and always looks lovingly at any chocolate cake nearby. She just doesn’t understand why she never gets to share!
I haven’t seen it, honest…
Ok, so I might have noticed…
Why can’t I have some???!
We obviously couldn’t give her any cake, but she was still happy 
Uschi, may we commend you on your boundlessly optimistic outlook on life! Where there’s hope, there may yet be cake! Of course not of the toxic variety.
We always told Otto to ‘forget it, Buster’ when he eyed up the garlic bread and, wouldn’t you know it, one day stumbled on the way to the kitchen, dropped the bread and made one Weimaraner very happy; albeit with a somewhat piquant breath for a few days.
So, keep up your cheery smile. You are doing everything just right. And you will get your reward. Just stay away from chocolate and nuts. But that’s another story…
Poor Uschi. I don’t blame her for wanting to try out that cake. It looks yummy. She’s very good tho’ (despite all that tempatation!). Not one bit of drool.
No, it was only us that were drooling at the cake!
