Uschi in Cumbria
Jan 17th, 2009 by Alison
While we were in Cumbria we visited a few different spots (although we did keep forgetting to get the camera out). We took a walk at Grizedale Forest.

We stayed at an unsual place, a farm folly near the village of Greystoke. The farm looks like a small castle with a turret and battlements. It snowed while we were there too
You can book the place we stayed at here. It was a very nice cottage, clean and very comfortable – recommended.

We took walks around the Keswick area and Uschi liked a run about Crow Park next to the water of Derwent Water.

It’s certainly a superb setting.

On our final day we had to leave the cottage early so we took a walk in the local Greystoke Forest. The forest tracks were frozen solid – this photo looks like snow but it was thick solid ice and we had to pick our way along the edge of the tracks were we could get some grip underfoot. Of course Uschi didn’t have any problem at all – 4 feet are definitely better than 2!

That looks fab. Is it a sheep infested are?
There were no sheep in either of the forests and although there was evidence of sheep at Crow Park, there were none there while we were there
