Uschi’s Development
Apr 20th, 2006 by Alison
We are starting to realise that Uschi is getting better at many things. She’s getting better at being left alone, she’s getting better at following commands (sit, down, stand etc.) and she’s even getting better at not chewing everything in sight. She still likes to eat anything that she finds on the floor, but you can’t have everything.
I thought I’d review some of Uschi’s favourite things to eat or chew, here are the top 10:
- Carpet - a nice hole in our carpet is testament to just how quickly puppy teeth can work. Although to be fair, the cat did get the hole started in the first place!
- Shoes – Stephen’s “garden” shoes and my slippers are favourites.
- Tissues – don’t they make a nice gooey mess!
- Fingers – which are now being doused in horrible tasting bitter apple so they’re not so tasty.
- Dog bedding – but it tastes better if it’s dragged out of the crate and attacked in the middle of the room first.
- Socks - but Stephen’s definitely taste (or smell) the best to Uschi!
- Potatoes – we can no longer keep potatoes in our floor standing vegetable rack… in fact I’m sure it won’t be long before she discovers onions and we may as well get rid of the rack altogether!
- Plants – Uschi is often seen with a green clump of grass sticking out of her mouth.
- Spectacles – amazing how good puppy teeth are at scratching glasses
- Furniture – expensive cupboard handles are just delicious!
