9 Weeks and Growing
Mar 21st, 2006 by Alison
Uschi was 9 weeks old yesterday. We can hardly believe how much she has grown in the 2 weeks that we have had her! Her eyes are already changing colour, in outdoor daylight they still look quite blue, but inside artifical light they are looking more yellow. Weimaraners are born with bright blue eyes and the colour begins to change to yellow from 6 weeks of age.

She’s also beginning to display those typical weimaraner traits… like finding the warmest place. Here she is in the hall next to the radiator. She’s also discovered how to climb onto the sofa… Stephen fell asleep on the sofa this morning while I was getting ready for work. When I came downstairs I found Stephen and Uschi both snoring on the sofa! Very naughty because she isn’t allowed on the sofa…

She’s settling into her crate as well now and happily goes inside to rest and sleep. She’s even getting better when we leave her in it to go upstairs or elsewhere in the house. We’re working up to being able to leave her in the house alone for short periods. Occasionally she has a mad moment in her crate where she pushes underneath her cushion and ends up all squashed up, here she is this evening, she’s now gone to sleep like this. There is a vet-bed pad underneath her so she is cosy enough.

Of course she still has her demon moments, but she’s an angel really!

is it a girl?
